biography
Matthew J.X. Malady is a writer, editor, and civil
rights attorney living in Manhattan. While working on
a collection of short stories, Matthew has been
freelance editing for numerous publishing houses and
magazines. He currently serves as Editor in Chief of
Strong magazine, the 350,000-circulation magazine of
the New York Sports Club and its Boston, Philadelphia,
and Washington, D.C. affiliates. Matthew's recent
editing work can also be seen in books published by
Fillipachi and Assouline. When he's not writing,
Matthew continues to provide legal assistance and
advice to numerous non-profit organizations throughout
New York City. He is a summa cum laude graduate of
Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse writing school,
and a cum laude graduate of the University of Michigan
Law School. His latest short story, entitled "Railroad
Ties," will be completed in the coming months.
